As a cutting-edge marketing firm, the team here at OPUSfidelis has some pretty extensive experience with various marketing methods. We have experimented with the new and the old, as well as some classic and bold techniques.

Today, we will focus on email marketing, a method which many in the industry have considered to be “on its last legs.” This is an obvious exaggeration, as evidenced by RefreshBox, a recent startup that facilitates email newsletter creation.

RefreshBox has seen 62% week-over-week growth since it launched about 15 weeks ago. It now impressively serves 3,700 subscriptions to some 1,200 email recipients from 207 different curators. The curious thing about the service is that none of its creators are writing their own content. Rather, they put together their own personal list of links that they think are worth checking out for content. Basically, it poses itself as an easy way to discover what articles and pages different brands or people are checking out week-to-week.

This should serve as a warning to any marketer considering dropping older, “outdated” marketing strategies. There is still a lot of life left in them!

In short, RefreshBox offers newsletter curation without getting bogged down by having to write your own content or endlessly scanning social channels. However, despite its early and explosive start, the newsletter service is still in its beginning stages, and all of its creators are currently working on other projects as well, though this should be changing soon.

RefreshBox is free, so check it out here!
