YouTube has announced plans to implement a way to please those users irritated with ads and not lose revenue.

The addition of a paid subscription option that removes all ads seems like a move in the Netflix direction, which would open up the option for YouTube to start creating original content with well-know names in the industry.

YouTube head Susan Wojcicki is in charge of the change, and explained at the Code Mobile conference this week that the option would perfectly satisfy those most bothered by the constant commercials, especially mobile users.

The important thing to note is that this is not a “pay to access YouTube” scenario, rather it’s a “pay to remove ads if you like” one.

If YouTube does implement this tactic, would you pay extra for a more streamlined, ad-free experience?  Or would you need something more, like original programming or dedicated news channels?  Tweet your answers to @OPUSfidelis!
