Facebook has announced that it will, basically, redesign its entire site. Again. That, in addition to its new Graph Search, should add a significant amount of value not just to users, but also to clients. Why? Well:

1.  To start, Facebook officially killed Myspace. Believe it or not, the former social media giant has been limping along for years and remains the top ten social networks worldwide. The new Myspace rebuilt itself around its core strength — sharing music. But Facebook’s new homepage includes a music feed that allows you to track and listen to any artist you would like. In other words, it’s the new Myspace, but without the need to actually go to Myspace. We predict Justin Timberlake will be furious.

2.  Memes will be bigger and work harder for you. The bread and butter of social media is the meme, a picture with text that can be funny or serious but always makes its point quickly. Facebook has announced it will be increasing the size of pictures in the newsfeed, and that instagram photos can be set up to show up instantly in newsfeeds as well. In other words, if you host an instagram contest, you’ll not only receive the Instagram views, but at least 2-300 views from Facebook. Per photo. That’s exposure that adds up quickly.

3.  You will get more advertising and your users will like the advertising. Facebook has done two things that will almost certainly improve engagement for your business:

  • It has created multiple feed style system, that allows users to sort your brands, college friends, and other groups into separate feeds. That makes people more likely to focus on your content (as opposed to glancing over it on their way to their favorite cat meme).
  • In addition, multiple feed systems mean multiple pages that host the multiple pages. This means that there will be more overall advertising space.

Will users accept the new changes? Will the new content sorting system successfully compete against Google + circles? We’ll keep you posted!
